POSTPROCESSOR DEVELOPMENT |
|
|
|
CAM software tools like NX create a tool path that is structured like a ‘APT’ program. This then needs to be converted into a machine-specific CNC program. This is done with the help of a ’Postprocessor’. A ‘Postprocessor’ defines the configuration of a CNC machine in terms of:
- Type of Machine (Lathe / Milling Machine etc..)
- Control System
- Number of Axes
- Travel Limitations
- Speeds & Feeds
- Tool Handling
- Coolants
- Program Offsets etc.
We can develop postprocessors for any CNC machine to help convert the tool paths into the required CNC programs. |
