  POSTPROCESSOR DEVELOPMENT

CAM software tools like NX create a tool path that is structured like a ‘APT’ program. This then needs to be converted into a machine-specific CNC program. This is done with the help of a ’Postprocessor’. A ‘Postprocessor’ defines the configuration of a CNC machine in terms of:
  • Type of Machine (Lathe / Milling Machine etc..)
  • Control System
  • Number of Axes
  • Travel Limitations
  • Speeds & Feeds
  • Tool Handling
  • Coolants
  • Program Offsets etc.
We can develop postprocessors for any CNC machine to help convert the tool paths into the required CNC programs.
