Complex components such as Turbine Blades cannot be machined on 3-Axis CNC machines as it will require innumerable set ups. In such cases, 4-5 Axis Milling approach becomes inevitable. This approach is mainly used for Complex Component machining. It is also used for Die machining to a lesser extent. We understand various tool orientation strategies and their applicability for:
- Swarf Milling
- Normal to Part Tool Axis (with Lead / Tilt etc.)
- Normal to Drive Surface
- Away from Point
- Away from Line etc.
We understand the various types of operations such as:
- Roughing Operations
- Semi-Finish Operations
- Finishing Operations
We can understand the Customer CNC Machine specifications and produce proper tool paths that can be postprocessed with a specific postprocessor built for that CNC machine. |
